Issey Miyake's new W Watch by Satoshi Wada Now Available in the UAE
As part of the Issey Miyake Watch Project, renowned car designer Satoshi Wada has created “W”, a new chronograph watch combining the minimalistic style of Japanese traditional arts with the cutting-edge precision of German design.
Wada is part of the creative team at the German automotive giant Audi AG. The design concept is based on the primitive sense of classic automotive meters as well as the precision of aircraft gauges. Of particular note is the side view of the chronograph which has been developed based on the flexibility and sustainability of bamboo, an element which features greatly within Japanese culture. The “W” has an accurate gauge-like dial and a case form inspired by the aluminum wheel of a high performance automobile. Other features include a wide dial face which exudes simplicity, technical prowess and elegance.
