Whether going out or grilling up, BBQ is a must during the summer. Best eats: Berkshire Belly at Fette Sau (Williamsburg); Half BBQ Chicken Plate at Dinosaur BBQ (Harlem); Slow-Cooked Ribs at Georgia’s East Side BBQ (LES). Taking to the flame? Dickson’s Farmstand (Chelsea Market) specializes in local, sustainable meats; call ahead for car-side delivery. Head to Faicco’s Pork Store (West Village) for sausages and pair your pig with cheese and charcuterie from Murray’s, located on the same Bleecker Street block.
COOL COCKTAILS
Quench your thirst with a sweet summer sip. Newcomer Kingston Hall (East Village) serves its drunken coconut drink, made with spiced rum, fresh coconut water, pineapple juice, in a hollowed shell. Light and simple rosé sangria is best from Socarrat (Chelsea), and the St. Hilaire, made with St. Germaine, cava, lemon peel, from the John Dory Oyster Bar (NoMad) is superb.

Beat the heat with an iced treat. Eat: Alcohol-Infused Popsicles – Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar (Battery Park); Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich –Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop (Greenpoint); Salty Pimp Cone (vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche, sea salt, chocolate dip) – Big Gay Ice Cream (East Village). Drink: Cold-Brewed Iced Coffee – Birch (Flatiron); Frozen Vanilla and White Chocolate Café Mocha – B Cup Café (East Village).

Wish you were on the water? Savor seafood at its best: Oysters at Aquagrill (SoHo); Crawfish from The Lobster Place (Chelsea) and the Lobster Roll at Ditch Plains (West Village and UWS).
