Jay Michael

Jay co-founded Cedar Street Capital Partners in 2002 to fulfill his vision for a high service, creative, and nimble real estate investment firm. One of Chicago’s most successful and respected brokers, Jay specializes in residential and investment brokerage, acquisition site selection, construction management, architectural planning, landscape design, interior design, material and labor sourcing and price negotiation. He has an uncommon understanding of the market, combined with exceptional acumen for sales and negotiation, and he has built the firm with a profound understanding of all parties: buyer, seller, landlord, developer, and broker.Prior to founding Cedar Street Capital Partners, Jay lived in London where he worked for CNBC Europe. A family matter brought him back to Chicago where he began investing in distressed residential real estate with his partner to begin what is now Cedar Street Capital Partners. Jay earned his English and American Bachelors of Arts degree in International Communications at Richmond, the American International University of London. Jay currently resides in Chicago and is involved in several local philanthropic organizations.
