Getty Villa Turns Catwalk With Ancient Roman Fashion Shows
The Getty Villa morphed into one haute toga party over the weekend as the museum introduced its new Roman Runway show.
The event – a salutation to the fashion of ancient Rome – features a “historical reenactment group” called Legio VI Victrix, who demonstrate how the clothing of that era reflected values, class and historical changes.
Guests are also offered the chance to go backstage at the Education Courtyard and try on the ‘ancient’ togs.
In addition to the show that debuted over the weekend, you’ll have the chance to catch Roman Runway from June 23-24 and June 30-July 1.
