This is the Villa La Leopolda, Arguably one of the most superb villas in the world, back up the hills behind Beaulieu and Villefranche. One of several villas created by King Leopold of the Belgians for his various mistresses, it was for some years owned by Fiat tycoon Gianni Agnelli, and more recently purchased by Bill Gates for a sum in excess of $76m. Microsoft Co-founder Paul’s Allens Maryland Villa is minutes away.
