Generosity Water Hosts Gala In Hollywood To Raise Awareness of Water Crisis

Global Warming is a crisis to many, and to the few, it is a sort of blessing.  If you’re from Buffalo the recent mild winter has not exactly raised any alarms.   But a real crisis which effects nearly a billion people daily is the lack of access to clean water in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Although we take it for granted in the United States, access to clean water leads to the death of roughly 3.6 million people a year, that’s 9,800 people a day.

Generosity Water, a non-for-profit organization, is dedicated to fighting the clean water crisis by creating wells in communities, giving out clean water and raising awareness.  As of now over 330 projects have helped hundreds of thousands of people obtain clean water in impoverished countries.

On Friday, May 4, at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Generosity Water hosted its 4^th annual “Night of Generosity Gala” to benefit the charity and raise awareness for the often-overlooked crisis.

Hosted by E! News’ Jason Kennedy and The View’s Sherri Shepherd, the gala featured a live performance, visual displays and a live auction that helped raise funds for Generosity Water.  In the end, the gala raised $175,000, enough money to provide 15,000 people with clean water.

Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Nathalia Ramos sipped cocktails while performers Caitlin Crosby, Mathai, Dez Duron, Rhea Bailet and DJ Fred Matters played live performances throughout the evening.
