Ferrari Set To Launch First Hybrid Car In 2013
Ferrari plans to launch its first gasoline-electric hybrid system in 2013, with the new technology being featured on the next Enzo successor.
Enzo was first introduced in 2002 as a gasoline-powered mid-engine V12 that reaches 60 miles per hour in 3.14 seconds. It can reach top speeds of 221 miles per hour.
Enzo is reputed for its F1 technology that uses electrohydraulic shift transmissions and carbon-fiber body. Ferrari plans on using its own “HY-KERS” hybrid, which can slash fuel consumption by 40 percent while minimizing acceleration times. “HY-KERS” adds about 120 kilograms more to the car.
