Fashion, News | March 14, 2012

The Lungarno Collection represents the finest of craftsmanship of Tuscany with its reputation in fine luxury and contemporary design hotels.

Although it’s traditionally Italian in design and ambiance, it makes international guests feel at home. President of the Lungarno Collection, Leonardo Ferragamo, is the son of the brand’s founder, Salvatore Ferragamo. Salvatore was considered a genius in the art of shoe-making and hospitality. Leonardo is paying tribute to his father in a new collection called “Ferragamo Creations.”

The collection will include bespoke items originally designed for celebrities. At the peak of Salvatore’s career, celebrities of his time would seek him out to make footwear exclusive for them. The collection will include ballet flats originally created for Audrey Hepburn and the court shoes created for Marilyn Monroe in “Some Like It Hot.” Initially, only guests of the four hotels from the Lungarno Collection will have access to the exclusive collection.
