Haute Event: Wet Republic Opens with Oscar Goodman Kicking Off the Day

Earlier today, Wet Republic at the MGM Grand officially opened its doors to the public for the 2012 Las Vegas pool season. Former Mayor Oscar B. Goodman was present to kick off the daylife destination’s fifth season along with Mark Prows, vice president of entertainment for MGM Grand.

In true Oscar Goodman style, the Vegas icon had a Bombay Sapphire martini in one hand and was accompanied by two gorgeous showgirls as he made his way down to the entrance of the party pool to welcome the crowd to opening day.

“This is the trendsetter, the top of the heap and everybody else tries to imitate it, but there is only one number one and that is Wet Republic,” Goodman said “Wet Republic is the party that everyone agrees on.”

The Wet Republic staff joined Goodman and Prows as they cut the ribbon to formally commence the start of pool season in Las Vegas.

Goodman was then led inside the venue as he was given a tour of the space. The world’s happiest now former mayor met with all of the staff and thanked them for doing a wonderful job by keeping Las Vegas a top tourism destination. The beloved Sin City legend also took time to take additional photos with the sexy model cocktail servers.
