Employee’s at the West Palm Beach Morton’s Steakhouse were informed Wednesday that the restaurant would be closing that day.

The location is no longer listed on the Web site alongside the other Florida locations: Orlando, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, North Miami and Coral Gables.

The closing of the restaurant is due to “demographic shifts” over time, according to the vice president of marketing of Landry’s Restaurants, Tilman Fertitta.

Fertitta’s wholly owned company, Fertitta Morton’s Restaurants, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Fertitta Morton’s Acquisition, purchased more than 90 percent of Morton’s shares, giving him and his affiliates 92.2 percent of outstanding shares.
