Haute Agent: Heidi Bintz

The family apple farm and ski resort in mid-central Michigan enabled Heidi Bintz to start skiing at the age of three. Her keen interest in the sport started there. Long and important part of her life, skiing has led her to varied and worthwhile experiences. At 18, Bintz became a certified ski instructor. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Agricultural Economics, she worked at Merrill Lynch as a commodity and stockbroker. A ski vacation in 1985 convinced the outdoor enthusiast to change direction and move to Vail to be a ‘ski bum.’ Bintz taught skiing in Lionshead, worked in retail stores, and had two daughters before starting Kenny’s Double Diamond Ski Shop with her then husband. Actively involved in the operation and promotion of the shop, Bintz also developed the Double Diamond Ski Clinic for Women Only, an endeavor that lasted nine years. Bintz has been involved in the Vail Chamber of Commerce, the Vail Valley Tourism Board, and Lake Creek Meadows Homeowners Association. She is a member of PSIA, an organization for certified ski instructors; Vail Valley Professional and Business Women; and the International Who’s who. She volunteers at Vail Mountain School and the Vail Academy of Dance. As a mother of 13- and 17-year-old daughters, life is adventurous. The outdoors remains a large part of family life. Having the Rockies as a setting for raising children is a joy to her. Heidi lives the mountain lifestyle in the Vail Valley and wants to share her knowledge and passion for the area with others. Her broad knowledge of the area is a benefit and bonus to helping clients make sound real estate choices.
