Padma Lakshmi, the beautiful, exotic host of Bravo’s hit reality TV show, “Top Chef,” and who recently made news after divorcing now-former husband Salman Rushdie in 2007, has apparently found some new digs in Manhattan’s East Village.

Lakshmi, who also has modeled extensively and taken on several acting roles, paid a reported $1,651,111 for a full-floor loft in the Alphabet City area. The loft, which features four rooms, is located in the building at 311 East 2nd Street, and the deal apparently closed January 16, after Lakshmi originally went to contract to buy the loft on December 6.

According to the Celebrity Real Estate Homes Blog Big Time Listings, “The full-floor, two-bedroom unit is in a restored, brick building in Manhattan’s East Village, with two baths, Empire State Building views, a master bedroom suite with a windowed bath, a study with a brick arch, wood-beamed ceilings, wide plank historic floors, and a windowed kitchen with butternut cabinetry with glass doors and Basalt countertops and modern appliances, according to listing information.”
