BLT Steak Introduces Chef Mario Tolentino

In the past, Miami was primarily recognized for it’s nightlife, but in recent years the city has stepped up both it’s artistic and culinary levels a notch (or two.) BLT Steak at the Betsy hotel on South Beach emerged onto the Miami dining scene in  March 2009, and now welcomes Mario Tolentino as their new chef de cuisine.

Mario Tolentino is the recent winner of the competitive cooking show Chopped, and has worked at a number of fine restauraunts including the Plaza Hotel’s Oak Room in New York City. “I’m looking forward to delivering the consistently great steakhouse cuisine that has earned BLT Steak it’s standing as one of the top restaurants in Miami,” offered Tolentino. “I can’t wait to get to know the local and regional farmers and immerse myself in the chef scene in Miami.  Like most chefs my age, I’m a big proponent of fresh, seasonal ingredients and I plan to support local providers as much as I can.”
