Haute 100 Update: Helio Castroneves Extends Team Penske Contract into 13th Year

Three-time Indy 500 winner and Dancing With the Stars winner Helio Castroneves has extended his contract with his longtime racing team, Team Penske. In 2012, Castroneves will once again defend Roger Penske’s team, making it their 13^th year of partnership – one of the most enduring in motorsport history.

Joining the Brazilian race star are Australian drivers Will Power and Ryan Briscoe, who have as well renewed their contracts with the formidable team. Castroneves feels that 2012 “will be a fantastic year, because we are debuting a new car, inaugurating a new era in IndyCar and our focus will be to develop the new Chevrolet IndyCar and achieve our goals. I look forward to next season.”

“I am very happy to continue with Penske, where I am since 2000. We are a family and there could be no better working environment,” added Castroneves. “Will Power, Ryan Briscoe, and I work very well together and thanks to the sponsors for Penske we could keep the same formation of three cars, which is excellent news. We are going to fight for the title next season, which is a goal that we seek with great force.”
