Conan O’Brien reportedly buys $10 million mansion

Apparently, unlike his late-night show, Conan O’Brien’s wallet is not affected by the writers’ strike. (But, seriously, folks…)

O’Brien, the goofy, tall, and red-headed late-night talk show host, has reportedly purchased a New England traditional-style mansion in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles for a reported $10.495 million. Moving into the swank neighborhood that was once home to OJ Simpson (maybe he’s moving in for the jokes?), O’Brien is further cementing his place in Los Angeles, where he will presumably continue to air his late-night talents as host of The Tonight Show in 2009 when Jay Leno steps down.

The six-bedroom, nine-bath home has several luxury features, including 10-foot ceilings, six fireplaces, huge fitted closets, a screening room, a 1,500-bottle wine cellar, a library, a 60-foot veranda, as well as a pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, and outdoor pavilion with spa.

The newly built home, which sits on .87 acres, probably does not need any renovations, but O’Brien’s early purchase is either a sign of heady planning, or a sign of big changes to come.
