Sunday evenings have just gotten a whole lot more interesting. J Sheekey – the iconic London restaurant that is known as much for its famous clientele (Keira Knightley, Kate Moss and Kelly Brook are all regulars) as it is for its fish – and its neighbouring oyster bar is holding a monthly entertainment event.

The first Sunday of each month will see the oyster bar transform into a speakeasy, allowing diners to enjoy a variety of music and comedy ensembles (handpicked by Hardeep Singh Kohli, a celebrated Scottish comedian, writer, and broadcaster) over a seasonal Sheekey’s meal. Sample dishes include Strangford Loch oysters with spicy boar sausage and grilled tiger prawns with piri-piri butter and sautéed octopus with chorizo. There’s also a competent cocktail menu in place – try the ‘Twinkle’ cocktail made with Ketel One vodka, elderflower cordial and champagne.

“Anyone attending the Sheekey’s Speakeasies should expect the unexpected. The atmosphere is relaxed and playful… perfect for a Sunday evening. We offer unusual entertainment of the highest order. That, and braised octopus,” says Singh.

Sheekey’s Speakeasies are taking place on Sunday Sept 4, October 2, November 6, December 4, January 15 and February 5. To make a booking call 020 7240 2565 or visit www.jsheekeyoysterbar.co.uk
