Sapir Puts New York Mansion Up for Sale

News | January 12, 2010

Tamir Sapir has placed the Duke Semans Mansion on the market for $50 million dollars. The mansion is 20,000 square feet and located at 1009 Fifth Avenue near 82nd Street. The asking price is actually $10 million more than what Sapir had originally spent four years ago. Currently, the mansion houses a doctor’s office, a penthouse duplex and a five story home, and dates back to 1901. According to Curbed, the home was originally intended to display Sapir’s immense collection of ivory carvings. Talk about lavish living. I wonder what the new owner’s will use the home for. And what better timing to put the mansion back on the market, with Wall Street set to get their bonus, it won’t be long until there is a buyer putting an offer on the mansion.
