As the only hotel in Southern California to earn the esteemed AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star accolades for 18 straight years, The Peninsula Beverly Hills is widely regarded as one of the finest hotels in world. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, this summer and fall The Peninsula is unveiling a fresh new look:  All 193 rooms, including 36 suites and 16 private villas, have been elegantly refurbished while preserving the hotel’s original concept–to offer guests the essence of Southern California living in a setting evocative of a luxurious but relaxed Beverly Hills estate.

“When we undertook the refurbishment, we kept in mind the 70 percent of our guests who are repeat customers,” said Offer Nissenbaum, Managing Director of The Peninsula Beverly Hills. “The stylish new rooms reinvigorate the classic elegance, intimate comfort and residential ambiance that has helped us retain that devoted clientele for the past 20 years.”

Los Angeles-based interior design firm Forchielli Glynn LLC created the new look for the rooms. Partners Cynthia Forchielli and Helen Glynn carefully selected custom-made furnishings, carpeting and accessories that reflect the hotel’s quiet luxury. “The result reinforces the connection between the guest rooms and adjoining tropical gardens, and makes guests feel more relaxed and at home,” said Glynn. The rooms’ electronics were updated as well, with flat-screen televisions of up to 50 inches and easy-to-operate bedside control systems that allow guests to adjust lighting and temperature.

The Peninsula Afternoon Tea, a popular Beverly Hills tradition, is the focus of the hotel’s year-long 20th anniversary philanthropic campaign. Each quarter, The Peninsula is donating a portion of the proceeds of a special tea menu to a non-profit organization that serves the community. The philanthropic organizations include The Beverly Hills Education Foundation, St. Joseph’s Hospital, The Maple Counseling Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “We are grateful for all of the support that our guests and local residents have given the hotel,” Nissenbaum said. “Our 20th anniversary is the perfect time for us to help those organizations that do so much for our community.”

The Peninsula also is offering a special room promotion to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Valid from now through July 5, as well as from August 6 through December 22, the “Celebrate 20 Years” room promotion offers guests who reserve two consecutive nights at The Peninsula a third consecutive night for only $20. Other benefits include a 20 percent discounts on all spa, food and beverage charges, a $20 daily breakfast credit per person and discounted daily valet parking for $20.

Set among lush gardens, The Peninsula Beverly Hills is a resort oasis in Southern California. Legendary Rodeo Drive is just a short walk away, while LAX is accessible from the hotel in 20 minutes by car.

Reservations for the “Celebrate 20 Years” promotion can be made directly by telephone at 310-551-2888, toll-free: 800-462-7899 or e-mail: reservationpbh@peninsula.com. For online reservations and additional information, please visit: peninsula.com/beverlyhills.
