Former NFL great Jerry Rice’s mansion is quite a catch

Normally when it comes to football, the phrase “$22 million” probably applies to the signing bonus of an NFL contract.

Now, the NFL’s millionaires (or perhaps even a less athletically-inclined big wig) have something lavish to spend their checks on: future Hall of Famer Jerry Rice’s palacial mansion in Atherton, California.

At $22 million, this approximately 15,000-square-foot, three-story home is big enough to fit the entire team. The home features all the quintessential amenities of any pro athlete’s home: a gym, home theater, seven-car garage, and tall ceilings. But the seven-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home also holds a host of other luxuries, such as a library, office, and crafts room.

The home is located in the San Francisco area, where Jerry Rice made a name for himself as the NFL’s all-time greatest receiver with the San Francisco 49ers and the nearby Oakland Raiders. The San Francisco area also is one of the – if not THE – most promising real estate markets in the United States, something that Haute Blog has been following closely recently.

That makes this home a touchdown in our book.
