Haute Style: Fighting Eel opening second boutique

News | June 24, 2011

The comfy-chic clothing line Fighting Eel will open its second retail location on Oahu in September.

The new 1,300-square-foot boutique will be located in Kailua next to Whole Foods Market, which is slated to open later this year.

(Hawaii-based yoga apparel line Lily Lotus, which has a store in Kaimuki that will close soon, has leased a 750-square-foot space nearby.)

Last September Fighting Eel opened its first retail store in Chinatown, along with the Tee Tee Bar, a small boutique selling graphic tees mostly geared toward men. (The T-shirt shop closed earlier this month.) Its clothes — a blend of sexy and simple dresses and tops designed by Rona Bennett and Lan Chung — are sold in more than 100 boutiques on the Mainland and in Hawaii.

Both boutiques will feature a mix of original Fighting Eel dresses and tops and other apparel, accessories and jewelry made by local designers.

To see the newest collection, visit the flagship store at 1133 Bethel St. in Chinatown or call (808) 738-9300.
