56th Annual Drama Desk Awards
On Monday, May 23 the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards were held in the Hammerstein Ballroom of the Manhattan Center. Tony and Drama Desk award winner Harvey Fierstein hosted the black tie event.
Presenters at the awards ceremony, which celebrates all creative stage achievements including off-Broadway productions, included Daniel Radcliffe, Katie Holmes, Ellen Barkin, Marsha Mason, Montego Glover, Jonathan Groff, Larry Kramer, Karen Olivo, David Hyde Pierce, Liev Schreiber, and AnnabellaSciorra.
The big winners of the night included War Horse for Outstanding Play, The Book of Mormon for Outstanding Musical, Bobby Cannavale of The Motherf**ker With the Hat for Outstanding Actor in a Play, Frances McDormand of Good People for Outstanding Actress in a Play, Norbert Leo Butz of Catch Me If You Can for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, and Sutton Foster of Anything Goes for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.
