Haute Event: Coca-Cola’s 125th Birthday Celebration
Whether young or old, in Miami or Rome, people instantly recognize the iconic brand that is Coca-Cola. It is one of the few things in this world that truly transcends a variety of cultures and time. Hardcore Coca-Cola lovers gathered in New York’s IAC Building this past week to celebrate the brand’s 125th Birthday. The party was held in conjunction with ASSOULINE Publishing, which premiered two brand new Coca-Cola inspired products: the book Coca-Cola and the Coca-Cola iPad app, which will allow guests to enter Coca-Cola’s virtual world through a variety of interactive videos and animations. The app launches on iTunes on June 2. Known for its amazing art and fashion books, ASSOULINE’s Coca-Cola is a beauty with vivid imagery, history, and nostalgic advertisements. It is a true collector’s item for all Coca-Cola fans!
VIP guests in attendance included Whitney Port, Kelly Bensimon, and Adam Lippes, all of which are die-hard coke fans. Whitney Port was quoted with the following during the event: “Coca-Cola is something that will never go out of style and the new book is a testament to that! My first memory of Coca-Cola was enjoying an ice cold glass while watching my brother play baseball, and every time I drink it today, it reminds me of good times.”
Decor paid homage to the classic red and white, while hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were infused with the flavors of Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola glazed lamb skewers and Coca-Cola cupcakes. The night’s signature cocktail also Coca-Cola infused, naturally, and with a nod to nostalgia, the Filmograph Redux- popcorn and butter infused Bourbon paired with Coca-Cola.
Any excuse for a Coke is a good one, so don’t forget to celebrate their 125th with your family and friends. Then (just maybe) your happiness will inspire you to buy the world a coke.
