Gisela’s World: An Evening with the Stars

Tomorrow evening, my husband and I will be attending the “Evening with the Stars,” Inspire Greatness Awards Gala. This is the 7th year that the event is taking place and we are honored to host it this year at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach.

There will be both live and silent auctions that will help raise money to support the Special Olympics of Miami-Dade County. The donations and money raised goes to making the Olympics free for the athletes to participate. The funds also go to the Special Olympics’ six-week summer camp, Camp Shriver, which provides children with athletic and social skill development in a nurturing environment. As a mother of three, it touches me to know that I am helping families with children with special needs.

This year’s event will be hosted by special guests Jawan Strader or CBS4 News and Barry E. Johnson, the president and CEO of Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. It’s going to be a great event–lots of fun, but all in the name of a very important cause.
