Haute Events: NFL Stars Take Over the Palms
Former NFL quarterback and current executive vice president of football operations for the Denver Broncos John Elway dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Sunday night. Elway, accompanied by a party of four, sat in the main dining room and enjoyed the rib eye and truffle gnocchi. For dessert, the group shared crème brulee and S’mores.
On Saturday, comedian, actor and singer Jon Lovitz partied at Playboy Club with one other person. They sipped on mixed cocktails and hung out by the bunny bar until shortly after 1 a.m.
The Palms’ new resident deejay Clinton Sparks kicked off his Awesome residency with an explosive music set at Moon Nightclub. Celebrity friends there to support Sparks included film critic and entertainment journalist Ben Lyons and JoJo, who performed a short cameo with Sparks. The TV personality and recording artist enjoyed dinner with friends at Nove Italiano earlier that evening.
Also at Moon Nightclub that night, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Palomalu at a VIP table with eight friends; MMA fighters Urijah Faber and Chad Mendes, who celebrated their birthdays with an entourage of 30 and were presented a UFC-themed birthday cake courtesy of Caked Las Vegas; Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, who celebrated his birthday with eight others; and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez with a group of 10 friends.
Matthews had dinner at Nove Italiano, where he was presented with a birthday cake courtesy of Caked Las Vegas. He was also spotted in the kitchen signing Executive Chef Geno Bernardo’s famous celebrity door.
Earlier at N9NE Steakhouse, Faber enjoyed an intimate birthday dinner with 15; Palomalu dined with four others; and Sanchez dined with teammate Dustin Keller and friend and Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing.
