Haute Event: Hoala Salon & Spa Raises Money for Japan

News | May 6, 2011

Discounts do add up.

And when all that savings go toward a good cause, say, the relief effort in Japan, the discounts are even sweeter.

Hoala Salon & Spa, a luxury Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa at Ala Moana Center, donated $3,373 to the Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) to support the ALOHA FOR JAPAN campaign to help the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan.

Hoala’s team of Aveda professionals donated haircuts, facials, massages, pedicures and offered discounts on Aveda products to raise the money.

“Hoala means to awaken, to be reborn, to renew in Hawaiian, and we know that Japan is strong and has shown unending grace and resilience, and they shall be reborn, as well,” says salon/spa owner Lititia Thomas, shown here presenting the check to JASH President Edwin P. Hawkins. “Our entire team donated their time and talent for this fundraiser, and we hope that our prayers and donation will help in their efforts.”
