Marina Ship Pays Homage to Ralph Lauren

News | December 18, 2009

Paying homage to Ralph Lauren‘s contemporary and all-American style, Oceana Cruises’ new “Marina” ship, which will contain 2,500-square-foot luxury suites and is designed for 1,258 travelers, will be decorating all owner’s suites with furniture, fabrics, lighting, and bedding from the Ralph Lauren Home collection. While it sets sail in the Winter of 2011, many have already  began their preparations.

Just shy of hiring Ralph Lauren himself, the company went as far as hiring Tocar Interior Design, a firm started by two former Polo executives.  I guess it’s only fitting, since the boat is already filled with high-end details not usually found on cruise ships, like a grand, Lalique-designed grand staircase, stained-wood paneling, marble and granite surfaces, wool carpets and leather armchairs.

The ship also has 10 dining venues, a variety of bars and lounges, a full-service Canyon Ranch SpaClub, and fitness center, among others. Reservations will begin in January 2010.
