Haute Event: Bambah Vintage Tea Party

Just last week Harpar’s Bazaar Arabia joined forces with Dubai’s Bambah Boutique for an afternoon tea party. The fun event featured lots of pearls, candy, cakes, fresh flowers, music, valet party, and incredible vintage clothing and accessories.

Elegantly dressed guests sipped on tea and nibbled on dainty cakes amidst Bambah’s new vintage collection found throughout the store’s Jumeirah garden.  The new vintage collection focuses on SS11 trends with lots of pleats, funky retro blouses, color blocking 70s pants, denim, pastels, party dresses, florals, hats, and also vintage luggage.

Bambah owner Maha Abdul Rasheed fills her spacious Jumeirah villa-turned boutique with a treasure of vintage fashion from the 1930’s to the 1980’s. All hand-picked items from around the world, the store features a range of classics and designer pieces from such renowned names as Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Dior, and Nina Ricci.

Bamhah boutique has a special charm. The old radios, hat stands and table lamps appear to be straight off the set of a film noir and recreate the early twentieth-century mood Maha is seeking. Personal touches found throughout the store give Bambah its real charm. These come in the form of  black and white photographs of Maha’s family and friends; framed magazine covers from the 1940’s, as well as furniture from Maha’s grandmother’s house in Egypt. The space is intimate and personal; the perfect setting in which to shop for unique vintage fashion pieces.
