The Stars Are Out in New York This Month

On Wednesday, December 9, the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) presented its 14th annual holiday dinner hosted by Ross Bleckner, Bob Colacello, Francisco Costa, Ariel Foxman, Reinaldo & Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, and Martha Nelson.

This year, they honored Claudia Cohen for her generosity and enduring support over the years, and her daughter Samantha Perelman accepted the award in her mother’s memory. Donald Baechler, Mary Boone, Terence Koh,  Nicole Miller, Ronald Perelman, Helen Lee Schifter, Bruce Weber and Jason Wu were among the who’s who in the crowd, showing their philanthropic support.

The ACRIA Gallery featured works on sale by some of the most celebrated and talented visionaries from the contemporary art world, including works by John Baldessari, Ross Bleckner, Dale Chihuly, Brian Farrell, Eric Freeman, Nan Goldin, Robert Mapplethorpe, Ryan McGinness, Julie Mehretu, Herb Ritts, David Salle, Richard Serra, Kiki Smith, Ruud van Empel, Massimo Vitali, and many more.

The event was presented by InStyle and Urban Zen, while sponsors included Andre Balazs, Paul Beirne, Calvin Klein Collection, Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, Gillian Hearst-Simonds & Christian Simonds, Mr. & Mrs. John B.
