Evening Star Diamond for Auction

News | November 24, 2009

Like the old saying goes, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” Well here’s a chance to gain a new best friend this holiday season. Leading auction house Christie’s will be presenting a rare find for collectors in New York City: the Evening Star Diamond, a pear-shaped 39 carat, D colour diamond.

This precious gem originated from India’s ancient Golconda mines, where many of the world’s finest diamonds emerged. It’s price is estimated at around $3,600,000-5,500,000.

Other items for sale include a matching diamond necklace and pair of diamond ear pendants, both of which are the most chemically pure type of diamond.
