Check’s in the Mail, Right Rod?

News | November 20, 2009

Famed musician and sometime Palm-Beacher Rod Stewart has become a notorious money-ower.

Stewart is apparently experiencing some legal troubles in L.A. for outstanding debt he owes a law firm who represented him on several occasions, including a case involving a cancellation of a Las Vegas Christmas concert in 2000, to which Stewart was sentenced to pay $2 million to the Rio (a debt that is most likely still overdue…). His running tab for the law firm is up to $3.3 million.

In quite the circuitous legal whirlwind, Kemble Interiors of Palm Beach sued Stewart in 2001 for unpaid services of $168,000; the unpaid installment of his $1.4 million bill with them as a result of decorating abodes in Palm Beach, London, and Los Angeles.  But what’s even better, the lawyers who represented Stewart, Proskauer Rose LLP from Boca Raton, have a $20k score to settle with Stewart. Honestly, shame on them for expecting they were any different from the suckers Stewart has stiffed along the way.
