Waikiki Edition Hotel's Sun Suite

There’s something for everyone this weekend Honolulu! From the gala go-er to the professional networker to the fundraiser to the athlete, this weekend is a mixed plate of to-dos. Happy Weekend Oahu!!

Thursday, December 9: MPI Holiday Cocktail Soiree

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Aloha Chapter is hosting their annual holiday soiree at the happening Waikiki Edition Hotel. This Thursday, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. guests will enjoy the seasonal fete at the Edition’s Sun Suite while sipping a signature cocktail by in-house mixologist, Christian Self and noshing on bites by Executive Chef, Kaleo Adams. In addition to scrumptious hors d’oeuvres and the refreshing Rose Collins (Hendricks Gin, fresh lemon, sugar and rose essence, guests will get to participate in the pick-a-prize drawing. For just $10 a ticket you’ll be placed in a bid for amazing prize packages like overnight stays in luxe hotels across the island chain and fine dining experiences. The events proceeds will benefit Project Visitation, a charity that was created to provide monthly visits and special events for siblings separated from family by the foster care system. Tickets are $50 per person.

Friday, December 10: Carb-o Load at the Kahala Hotel & Resort

It’s marathon weekend. And, the Honolulu Marathon is the sixth largest in the world bringing runners from all over the globe to Oahu for Sunday’s race. The Kahala Hotel & Resort is not only an ideal place to stay but the property also houses delectable dining options that are perfect for getting your nourishment on in prep for the big day. The Plumeria Beach House Restaurant will be featuring a special marathon dinner buffet on the nights of December 10 and 11 featuring fresh caught seafood, salads and entrees highlighting local seasonal ingredients. There will also be plenty of pastas of course. Choose from Cajun Shrimp Pasta Salad, a Soba and Somen Noodle Bar and a build your own Penne Pasta station with black mussels, lobster, shrimp, asparagus and roasted mushroom add-in options.  Adults cost $45, children (4-12) $22.50.

Saturday, December 11: Kama’aina Christmas

It’s the 25th Annual Kama’aina Christmas, Oahu’s most premiere holiday gala that benefits the Academy of Arts general operating fund.  The event will be held on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the courtyards of the Academy. The gala will feature not only fabulous food and drink but also dancing in the central court, a stellar silent auction and Cartier Lucky Drawing. Tables start at $6,500 to $25,000.
