Armani Celebrates One Year in Moscow

In celebration of the first anniversary of the flagship boutique in Moscow, Armani showed the Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection in Moscow. Giorgio Armani made an appearance as a gesture to show his confidence in the prospect of Russia as a future home for modern fashion.

The celebration included various events among them 2 fashion shows and a special cocktail party. Autumn/Winter 2009 collection showcased true Armani style with a modern taken on the popular eighties trend and beautiful selection of winter perfect gray colors.  Before the show Giorgio Armani hosted a cocktail party at GUM, the iconic Russian trading center on the Red Square.

In addition to the celebration a showcase of the collection along with a mix of pieces from Giorgio Armani Prive were showed in Barvikha, the renowned luxury village outside Moscow.

“I visited Moscow last in 2002 and found the city to be full of the most incredible energy. I am really looking forward to seeing Moscow again and experiencing its wonderful mixture of culture – that very special combination of the historical and the contemporary – and the city’s constant evolution. I also feel that despite the recent economic events, Moscow will regain that same energy quickly.  It is important for me to support my initiatives in new markets and to show by my presence my belief in the importance of Russia as a great home for modern fashion,” said Armani in a statement.

Surely an endeavor to be proud of, Armani continues to raise the bar in luxury and set a global standard for fashion everywhere.
