“I’m a Queen” by Furne One at Dubai Fashion Week

News | November 2, 2010

One of the most eagerly anticipated shows of Dubai Fashion week was “I’m a Queen” by popular designer Furne One. The designer’s brand “Amato”, which means “loved” or “beloved” in Italian, features creations laden with gold and ivory color and greatly embellished with Swarovski crystals. His latest collection is inspired by Elizabethan era clothes and was revealed in a performance choreographed by the designer.

The models walked boldly while dramatically dressed with elaborate head pieces and accessories influenced by the fashion of British royalty during the 17th century. Wearing dangling chains, metallic cups and wooden forks, all made from recycled materials, the accessories further accentuated the innovation and style of each outfit. Models also wore Amato shoes, neck-braces, band-aids and support braces as if to enact the aftermath of war or catastrophic disaster.

The 33 outfits presented included clothes suitable for all occasions from short tight dresses to wedding gowns with feathery trains and veils laden with sparkling crystals. Made from a range of fabrics including French lace and linen and soft tulle, Furne’s haute couture pieces were a feast for the eyes and an inspiration for the imagination. At once dreamy and magical, strong and brave, this collection is made for the powerful, fierce and independent woman–for true Queens.
