Chanel is taking the slopes with a sense of humor this winter. The Chanel Coco Neige 2026/27 collection, the house’s annual capsule for mountain and city dressing, launched on October 14, 2026, with a campaign photographed by Julien Martinez Leclerc. Chanel sums up its premise in four words: “CHANEL on and off-piste.”

The brief is a wardrobe that moves from first chair to the chalet table without a change of clothes. Chanel describes the collection as bringing “a taste of winter and a playful retro twist to alpine and city wardrobes,” pairing sporty flair with mountain elegance in silhouettes that are equal parts technical and sophisticated.

Coco Neige is one of two capsules Chanel adds to its calendar each year, alongside Coco Beach. This edition arrives under Matthieu Blazy, whom Chanel appointed artistic director of its fashion activities in December 2024, with responsibility for all haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections.

Red is the through line. A vivid shade runs through the collection, set against a bold palette broken up by graphic two-tone stripes and colorful check tweeds. The house’s own codes of black, white and beige are still here, now punctuated by primary and pop colors in blues, reds and yellows.

The proportions are where the collection feels most current. Made for skiing, snowboarding or everyday life, the jackets and ski suits lean relaxed and at times boyish, worn with hands slipped into denim pockets or bags slung over the shoulder. Tailored or loose, the pieces are styled with lined mules inspired by men’s loafers, mittens and chapkas.

Warmth comes from layering rather than bulk. Lined fabrics, jersey and touches of cashmere and wool are layered up to take on snowy days. Comfort and freedom of movement sit alongside sophistication in Chanel’s telling, and the collection makes a convincing case that the three don’t have to compete.

Then there is the wit. A small parade of penguins and polar bears waddles through the collection, a light touch that keeps all that technical polish from taking itself too seriously.

The accessories carry the same mood. Pieces featured on Chanel’s U.S. site include maxi flap bags in nylon and in shearling lambskin, a red-and-white nylon and calfskin bowling bag, a nylon and wool shopping bag, shearling camera cases, shearling mid-calf boots, cashmere and alpaca mittens, an alpaca and silk beanie, shield sunglasses in acetate and resin earrings set with strass.

Models Elodie Guipaud, Feng Jiao Long and Lia Marie Mielke front the campaign, which Chanel closes on a line that doubles as the collection’s thesis: “Snowy days, in CHANEL.”

Coco Neige is where Chanel gets to play, and this edition earns its place by getting the balance right. The ski suits are serious enough for the mountain, and the penguins make sure no one forgets it’s meant to be fun.
