Dior Arrives in Atlanta: Inside ‘Crafting Fashion’ at SCAD FASH

Atlanta’s fashion scene is getting a major moment this spring. SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film will debut Dior: Crafting Fashion, a landmark exhibition celebrating one of the world’s most iconic maisons. Notably, it marks the first presentation of the House of Dior in the Southeastern United States.
Opening April 16, 2026, the exhibition was created exclusively by Christian Dior Couture in collaboration with SCAD. It is curated by Hélène Starkman and organized by Rafael Brauer Gomes, creative director of SCAD FASH museums. Visitors can expect more than 100 historic pieces. Even better, several have never been shown publicly before. The exhibition moves from early atelier toiles to the couture looks seen on today’s runways and red carpets, offering a clear view of Dior’s craftsmanship.
A Rare Look Inside the House of Dior

The exhibition unfolds across seven thematic sections. Each one explores a different layer of Dior’s identity and evolution. For example, guests will see designs spanning Christian Dior to Jonathan Anderson, along with expressive garden-inspired installations and reimagined Lady Dior handbags by American artists. In addition, the show highlights dramatic runway and red carpet moments. Together, these elements create a narrative that feels both archival and current.
From Sketch to Runway

At its core, Dior: Crafting Fashion focuses on the creative process. It traces the journey from sketch to workshop, and from concept to catwalk. As a result, visitors gain a deeper understanding of how a Dior collection comes to life. The exhibition also examines the designers behind the house. Each creative director brought a unique perspective while still honoring Dior’s original vision. That balance between tradition and reinvention remains central to the brand.
Why It Matters for Atlanta
This exhibition is more than a fashion moment. It also serves as the finale of SCADstyle 2026, the university’s signature event celebrating design and innovation. At the same time, SCAD students will gain rare access to Dior’s world. Through private tours and lectures, they will connect directly with curators and design leaders.
Christian Dior once dreamed of becoming an architect. That influence still shapes the house today, blending structure with imagination. This exhibition captures that legacy in a way that feels both thoughtful and immersive. On view through August 23, 2026, Dior: Crafting Fashion brings a rare look inside one of fashion’s most influential houses to Atlanta. For those interested in couture, design, or cultural moments, it stands out as one of the city’s must-see exhibitions this year.

At its core, Dior: Crafting Fashion pulls back the curtain on the creative process itself. Visitors are guided from sketch to showroom, from muslin prototype to runway spectacle, offering a rare glimpse into how a Dior collection comes to life. It’s a study in craftsmanship, but also in storytelling—where architecture, memory, and artistry intersect. The exhibition also serves as the grand finale of SCADstyle 2026, reinforcing SCAD FASH’s role as one of the city’s most compelling cultural destinations. With exclusive programming, private tours, and direct engagement between students and Dior creatives, the experience extends beyond the gallery walls into something far more dynamic.
Running through August 23, 2026, Dior: Crafting Fashion isn’t just a fashion exhibition—it’s a rare opportunity to step inside one of the most influential maisons in history, right in the heart of Atlanta. For more information and to purchase tickets in advance, click here.
