Inside One of the Most Iconic Four Seasons Properties: The Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills
There are hotels that offer a place to stay, and then there are hotels that offer an experience that stays with you. Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills, A Four Seasons Hotel, has always belonged firmly in the latter category. Positioned on the iconic corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills, the property is one of those rare addresses that manages to be simultaneously legendary and entirely current — a place where history, art, design, and exceptional hospitality converge in a way that feels effortless.

Following a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2022, the hotel’s accommodations were elevated with a thoughtfully curated art program that reflects the property’s distinct aesthetic sensibility. Guest rooms feature works by an international roster of artists — from Art Squared’s handcrafted nature-inspired prints and David Cantu’s continuous line drawings capturing the silhouette of two faces, to Christina Ott’s gold leafing techniques inspired by the hotel’s Art Deco interior codes. In the Specialty Suites, the curation deepens considerably. The Wilshire Presidential Suite is home to Alberto Seveso’s striking Splash Black — a black and white impressionistic photograph mounted on a contemporary acrylic easel that creates what can only be described as an unexpected art moment. The Beverly Presidential Suite features bold abstract photography and paintings by Christina Craemer and Jason Demeo, selected to complement the suite’s statement rugs and interiors.

Then there is CUT, Wolfgang Puck’s Michelin-starred restaurant, which houses one of the most impressive private art collections in any dining room in Los Angeles. John Baldessari’s W/Studio 54 Series commands the main dining room — archival lightjet prints that bring an undeniable cultural energy to one of the city’s most celebrated tables. Robert Rauschenberg’s Wall Safe Glut and Palm Sunning anchor CUT Lounge, while the private dining room, Petit CUT, features an Ed Ruscha on loan alongside Martin Schoeller’s celebrity portraits of Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Anne Hathaway, Lionel Messi, and Cate Blanchett. Chef Puck’s own Schoeller portrait greets guests at the restaurant entrance — a fitting welcome.

The lobby sets the tone for it all. A 720-pound Czech crystal chandelier — composed of 266 crystal balls, 340 crystal rods, and 922 crystal octagons — anchors the space, alongside a custom one-of-a-kind center table of walnut on Movingui and Calacatta Borghini marble made in Spain by William Switzer, and Jason Young’s colorful acrylic glass panels rendered in trompe-l’œil.
