Cartier Writes a New Chapter With LOVE Unlimited
When Cartier introduced the Love bracelet in 1969, it wasn’t simply another piece of jewelry—it was a radical statement. Designed by Aldo Cipullo in New York, the oval bangle locked onto the wrist with a screwdriver, transforming adornment into ritual. Its exposed screws, once considered subversive, became a symbol of permanence and devotion. Couples often bought them in pairs, trading the screwdriver as a private gesture of fidelity.

Almost instantly, the bracelet took on cultural weight. Worn by iconic couples like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Ali Macgraw and Steve McQueen. It blurred the line between intimate token and public status symbol. Its streamlined form and unisex appeal captured the spirit of a generation that was reimagining love, freedom, and modernity. Today, more than fifty years later, the Love bracelet remains one of Cartier’s most lasting symbols, a design that continues to define modern devotion.
In 2025, Cartier introduces a new chapter: LOVE Unlimited. Where Cipullo’s original was defined by its rigidity, this version embraces fluidity. Gadrooned links punctuated by Cartier’s signature screws drape around the wrist like a ribbon of gold. A nearly invisible clasp preserves the illusion of continuity while allowing one bracelet to connect seamlessly to another, opening up the possibility of pairs—or an endless chain.

Available in yellow, rose, or white gold, the design is as versatile as it is symbolic. A companion ring distills the same proportions into a smaller scale, translating the idea into daily wear. If the original Love bracelet was about permanence, LOVE Unlimited reframes connection as something fluid, evolving, and infinite.
