The Macallan continues to offer elevated and tasteful whiskey experiences with a twist. Their latest collaboration with Hutong Miami, located in the heart of Brickell, is no exception. Here’s the proposition:

Hutong’s The Macallan Experience is Wagyu Millefille paired with a Barrel Aged Boulevardier which consists of The Macallan Double Cask 12 Year, Carpano Antica Formula and Bruto American by St. George. The cocktail is further enhanced with an ice cube in the form of the Easter Elchies House, the spiritual home of The Macallan.

Consider this experience to be an exercise in mindfulness, or as The Macallan and Hutong put it, “The Tao of the 5 Elements Ceremony of mindfulness.”

The experience highlights the five universal elements (wood, fire, earth, water, and metal) and encourages meditation and enjoyment of the balance of the elements of the pairing, making this much more than an ordinary cocktail. The Macallan offers an opportunity to transcend toward mindfulness.

As each ingredient has a crucial role in the cocktail, so does each element which is honored throughout.

Wood: The Macallan is aged and transformed by sherry wood casks through the water in the scotch. The wood of the incense is transformed by fire, completing the cycle of the elements.

Fire: The act of the burning incense feeds the flam and the transformation of the wood.

Earth: The wagyu Millefille represents the nourishment that rises from the land.

Metal: In an example of resourcefulness and creativity, the orange peel holding the incense represents gold, thereby honoring the metal element. Basalt trivet is a volcanic rock that is rich in iron and magnesium.

Water: The ice cooling the Macallan, as well as The Macallan itself, represents the transformative power of water.
