Since 1963, Loews Regency New York Hotel has defined Park avenue hospitality. To this day, it remains on of New York’s most iconic hotels and it’s the only luxury hotel north of 42nd street.

Loews Regency New York Hotel, the flagship of Loews Hotels & Co, originally opened on March 1, 1963 as The Summit, and was an instant success for the New York social set. Designed by Morris Lapidus, who had also designed The Americana in Bal Harbour, the ultra-modern hotel was built on the site of Loews’ Lexington theater, the same site where Oscar Hammerstein, the grandfather of the beloved composer, had erected the Lexington Opera House in 1913. Technologically, the hotel was ahead of its time, with cutting-edge amenities including bathroom telephones, silent typewriters, combination bar- refrigerators, and stereophonic TV sets. The hotel struck an international note from the start, with a concierge and bilingual busboys.

On January 1, 2013, the Loews Regency New York Hotel closed its doors for the first time in its history to undergo a comprehensive $100 million renovation. Reopened on January 16, 2014, the re-imagined Loews Regency New York Hotel now features 379 guest rooms, with 58 suites, including six signature suites, and a new flagship salon headlined by Julien Farel.

All of this success and history is commemorated in a one of a kind cocktail exclusively available at the Regency Bar & Grill. Named for its Diamond Jubilee, the cocktail created to mark the iconic hotel’s 60th anniversary is aptly named the Diamond Jubilee.
