El Camaleón was designed by golf legend and LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner, Greg Norman. Weaving through the distinct ecosystems of the region, including tropical jungle, dense mangroves, freshwater canals, and pristine Riviera Maya oceanfront, El Camaleón is considered one of the most diverse golf courses in the world.

In addition to El Camaleón, this Mexican wonderland boasts four luxury hotels – an Andaz, Banyan Tree, Fairmont, and a Rosewood – as well as three collections of private residences, including Rosewood Residences, Fairmont Heritage Place, and The Reserve. Which means there’s a lot to do: four acclaimed spas, more than 25 restaurants with eclectic cuisines, an an array of experiences.

“Securing Mayakoba and El Camaleón among LIV Golf’s roster of venues is an incredible asset that will no doubt help to ensure the success of our events globally,” says Norman. The course itself will present players with a variety of shot options to test both individual skills and teamwork amid a diverse landscape of oceanfront holes, mangrove jungle, and more. Away from the fairways and greens, Mayakoba offers an immaculate beachfront destination and breadth of recreational experiences to showcase the beauty of Riviera Maya while also providing exceptional service to players and fans alike.”

This event is made possible through a strategic alliance with Ciudad Mayakoba, the first comprehensive and sustainable master planned community in the Riviera Maya. Mayakoba Country Club, a new residential development located within said community, is currently under construction and will bring further offerings to the destination, including a new golf course designed by renowned Spanish golfer and LIV Golf star, Sergio Garcia, slated to debut in 2024, as well as wellness-oriented amenities, extensive green space and a Beach Club.
