Our cultural ambassador Radmila Lolly has had a month full of events, showing us what Miami has to offer in arts and culture throughout the winter. During Miami’s most well-known cultural event, Art Basel, Lolly’s recent single MAGIC (Miami Beach House Remix) was heard frequently at exhibitions throughout the week, as well as numerous after-parties.

She also attended the “Winter Wonderful” benefit for the Shalala MusicReach program at the Frost School of Music, for which Lolly is an advisory board member. Students from the Frost School of Music performed various arrangements of holiday songs, and two students from the MusicReach program performed as well.

Later that week, she attended the Nu Deco Ensemble concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center, featuring special guest artist Wyclef Jean. The Nu Deco Ensemble is a Miami-based hybrid orchestra that offers genre-bending performances, exploring numerous musical styles and hosting a variety of guest artists, both musicians and other art forms such as dance. Lolly was accompanied by the Haute Media Group CEO, Kamal Hotchandani. Wyclef stole the show; the whole audience was out of their chairs dancing and singing by the end of the performance, with Wyclef going out into the audience to join them. He was joined on stage by his sister Melky Jean, who blessed the audience with her beautiful vocals, which blended perfectly with the beautiful sounds of the ensemble. The performance was even more special for Radmila as one of her dear friends, and collaborator Siobhan Cronin performed in the orchestra on the violin. At the show afterparty with Wyclef, Lolly’s MAGIC (Miami Beach House Remix) was played.

The following week, she returned to the Arsht Center, this time to see a performance of the holiday favorite “The Nutcracker,” danced spectacularly by the Miami City Ballet. It was a beautiful performance and featured impressive light design projections, putting a modern twist on a ballet classic — inspiring Lolly to take notes for her own upcoming show.

For Lolly, there’s nothing quite as magical as the Magic City in the winter.
