Virgil Abloh Debuts Staples Edition By Louis Vuitton Pre-Collection For Fall/Winter 2019

For his Fall/Winter 2019 Pre-Collection, men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh launched the Staples Edition by Louis Vuitton. Taking queues from more functional wardrobe essentials, Abloh elevated each garment and accessory by giving them luxury LV upgrades, using the highest end materials such as cotton, cashmere, denim and leather. A neutral color palette was implemented, using off-white, taupe, gray, shades of blue and black.

Each piece in the Staples Edition by Louis Vuitton boasts different LV branding motifs. The first is a metal staple—an ode to an essential office supply item—which has the Louis Vuitton logo; the second is a triangular tab made from leather; the third is a leather label attached to a caribaner with garment folding instructions; and lastly, an accent button with the brand’s logo.

The outerwear line includes an overcoat, blazer, taped raincoat, puffa jacket, field jacket, leather jacket, denim jacket and track jacket, while the tops category includes the crew neck jumper, the t-shirt, the polo, the hoodie, the classic shirt and the utility shirt. The bottoms include the flared split trouser, the denim trouser, the cargo pant, the cotton chino, the cigarette trouser and the short; the shoes include the low-top sneaker, the work boot and the derby. The bags in the collection include the keep-all, the tote bag and the backpack and lastly, the accessories and jewelry include the cap, the glove, the aviator shade, the key ring, the wristband bracelet, the chain bracelet and the chain necklace.
