The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) sure know how to throw a party. The organization, which is a nonprofit trade association of 550 members, turns 75 this year. To celebrate the milestone anniversary, the group—which puts on the annual Auction Napa Valley—is ensuring that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever. How are they doing this? By calling in the big guns, specifically two California girls, Katy Perry, and Ayesha Curry.

To kick start the festivities of the official auction, the NVV has invited Katy Perry to perform. She’ll launch the spirited bidding by singing a collection of her greatest hits. After the live auction, everyone will head into a tent to enjoy a meal prepared by Ayesha Curry with help from Michael Mina’s team. The entire extravaganza takes place at Meadowood and is the culmination of a week of events in the valley that leads up to the auction.
Each year, NVV chooses a different chair to oversee the event, but this year, 30 former board of directors are coming together to serve as the honorary co-chairs of Auction Napa Valley. Louis M. Martini Winery will serve as the host of Friday’s Barrel Auction. The winery recently underwent a renovation and its founder, Louis M. Martini was one of the seven people who created the Napa Valley Vintners in 1944. He was also the chair of the first Auction Napa Valley ever in 1981. With two flashy celebrity-driven performances and a historical link to the past through Louis M. Martini, Auction Napa Valley promises to be futuristic, but respectful of its heritage.
Tickets are now available for the 39th edition of Auction Napa Valley, which takes place May 30-June 2.
