Inside Haute Living’s Swizz Beatz’ Zenith Watches Launch & Cover Reveal At Myn-Tu For Art Bas...
During this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, Haute Living took over Mynt Lounge and Myn-Tu Restaurant to celebrate the legendary Swizz Beatz for the launch of his second timepiece with luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, Zenith Watches. It was an extra special evening because it was also his second cover launch party for the magazine and to honor the doubly monumental occasion, guests enjoyed a special, private performance with the Miami Symphony Orchestra followed by an intimate dinner.
To start off, VIP guests enjoyed sips of cocktails and Champagne, as well as passed appetizers at Mynt Lounge, while some of Swizz’s favorite songs played in the background. When the guest of honor arrived, he and Zenith Watches CEO Julien Tornare introduced their special watch collaboration: the Defy Classic Swizz Beatz Edition, which officially became available for purchase online at midnight following the event. The watch—presented in a stunning, orange box that also doubles as an actual record player bearing the words, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”—is very special for both Swizz and for Zenith, as it provides all the high quality and gorgeous design elements expected from a luxury timepiece, yet at a very reasonable price point at just under $8,000. It is also limited to 50 pieces in total.
“It was important to me to create an entry-level piece with Zenith and Julien [Tornare],” began Swizz, who addressed the crowd. “That way, everyone can enter the luxury watch space and work their way up, without sacrificing on quality or design. It’s also the first e-commerce product for Zenith, which is extra special to me.” Tornare also addressed the crowd, speaking to the valuable partnership with the multi-talented icon.
Shortly thereafter, Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani took to the microphone to thank Swizz Beatz, Julien Tornare and Zenith Watches as a whole, before presenting a special surprise to the group. The Miami Symphony Orchestra then took to the front of the room to accompany some of Swizz-produced tracks, including DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.”
After the performance, guests made their way next door to Myn-Tu Restaurant for a private dinner to celebrate Swizz and all his accomplishments, enjoying a delicious selection of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including Crispy Betsy, Hamachi Jalapeño, Seared Yuzu Salmon, Prime NY Strip, Sea Bass Caramelo Skewers, and of course, Haute Living Truffle Spaghetti, accompanied by Newton Skyside Cabernet Sauvignon. As the night ensured, guests swayed to the background beats and basked in the perfect Miami atmosphere, celebrating an icon in the music, and now, in the watch industry as well, Swizz Beatz.
