Late last week, Miami native Alexander Mijares celebrated his first ever New York City exhibit at Hub Seventeen. Mijares, known for his colorful and vibrant artwork, unveiled a new collection of black and white works titled “No Distractions,” that were inspired by his recent trip to New York where he went off the grid for three full days roaming the streets of the city that never sleeps. This new collection is a stark contrast from his signature color palette inspired by Miami and his Latin Roots.

Attendees of the VIP party included fiancée Greta Jimenez, model Tobias Sorensen, restauranteur Omar Hernandez, DJ’s BLK ID Twins, real estate developer Brandon Cauff, actor Duane McLaughlin, stylists Robin Capili and Jamie Lynn Shafman from Kin Room and more.

At the event, guests were served light bites inspired by Mijares’ Cuban heritage and cocktails including the Blackberry Smash and New Fashioned, courtesy of Buchanan’s Whisky. Mijares was recently selected by Buchanan’s Whisky brand ambassador and global Latin superstar, J Balvin, to be a part of the Imparables Colección and to create limited-edition artwork inspired by Buchanan 12-Year-Old DeLuxe.
