Miami-based non-profit organization, The Little Lighthouse Foundation, hosted its 9th Annual Hearts & Stars Gala Weekend to much success with an exciting lineup of events and festivities to support the growing organization in the Miami community.

The organization assists underserved children and families in South Florida with funds and support, helping out in facilities like orphanages, homeless shelters, hospitals and youth centers. The Hearts and Stars Gala weekend is one of the highest-grossing and highly-attended events of the year for the organization, bringing forth a weekend of fun and glamour for a good cause.

The weekend started out with an opening reception at riverfront hot spot, Seaspice, on Thursday evening. On Friday, the group hosted an intimate and exclusive fête at a private waterfront estate, and to culminate the weekend, held the grand Hearts & Stars Gala at the gorgeous Miami Design District Jungle Plaza. The gala transformed the space into the “Temple of Ra,” maintaining an Egyptian theme throughout the space that invited 1,500 of the city’s luminaries in entertainment, philanthropy, business and more.

The gala boasted over-the-top, hieroglyphic gold columns and Celopatra-esque dancers throughout Jungle Plaza, creating an exotic and playful vibe that attracted guests like Real Housewives of Miami stars Lisa and Dr. Lenny Hochstein, UFC Champion Luke Rockhold and music producer Jermaine Dupri. Rony Seikaly kept the partygoers on their feet with beats going all night, as well as openers Patrick Pizzorni and Marcos Noel.
Photo Credit: World Red Eye Guests indulged in cocktails from Ketel One Vodka, Tita Italian Wines & Delicatessen, Starr Rum, Fishers Gin, Tequila Revolución, Coppertail Brewing Co. and Biscayne Bay Brewing Company in the center of the venue with food activations on either side by some of South Florida’s top restaurants and caterers, such as Amour de Miami, ChillN Nitrogen Ice Cream, Pizza Dude and others.

Toward the end of the evening, Little Lighthouse Foundation presented the Shining Light Award to Ricky Patel, a community member who embodies the spirit of philanthropy. They also presented its Volunteer of the Year awards to those who helped launch the LLF’s “Kids 4 Kids” program in 2017: Alexandra Van Gemerden, Alicia Matho, Gigi Jeffries, Andrea Minski and Fabiana Perreira.

“The Little Lighthouse Foundation is so thankful for all the support we received throughout Hearts & Stars Weekend 2018,” said Jonathan Babicka, Executive Director. “We exceeded all expectations with the highest attendance to date! This was truly the best weekend yet and we will be able to continue making an impact in our community with the funds raised.”
