Oprah Considers Running For President But Is Waiting On One Thing

Oprah Winfrey is considering running for president. At first, she was hesitant and denying any possibilities. Now, she’s completely game but she’s waiting on one thing: divine intervention.

That one thing she is not waiting for is the encouragement from her partner Stedman Graham or her long-time best friend Gayle King because she already has it. Instead, she is waiting on one thing more important to her than the two combined and that is God.

She said in an interview with People, “I went into prayer: ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.”

In an interview with Oprah, former First Lady Michelle Obama shared that the race to the presidency, and to live that life, is not something she would repeat.

But, that didn’t scare off Oprah because it was her January 2018 Golden Globe Awards speech that most felt was the moment she inadvertently began her campaign for presidency. Even billionaires were offering to help fund her nonexisting campaign.

“When I walked off with Reese [Witherspoon], I thought, ‘I got that done. It wasn’t until I was back in the press room that they said, ‘Do you realize you’re trending? I had people—wealthy, billionaires—calling me up and saying, ‘I can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign. That many people saying something made me think, ‘Am I at least supposed to look at the question?’”

Unfortunately for those who are cheering for Oprah to run, she shared that the divine has yet to intervene.

“…I haven’t gotten that.”
