A Few Haute Reasons To Leave The House This Weekend

Baby it’s cold outside, which can only mean one thing – winter has finally arrived here in Boston. We brave these winter months as every tough New Englander does with a few fun things in store. Here are a couple of reasons to leave the house this weekend that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

Last year, we told you about the debut of Boston Winter where more than 300,000 visitors checked out the winter exhibit on City Hall Plaza. The entire plaza has once again been turned into a European-inspired open-air holiday village complete with shopping, entertainment and an ice skating path. Now through December 31, you can check out this winter wonderland where you can check out 85 different boutique style chalets for local and international gifts, goods and food. Vendors this year include Grace Oliver, LovePop Cards (you may remember seeing them on Shark Tank), and Abnormal Creations. Kids will love the Bavarian Village and Santa House where they can have fun with the pedal-powered Christmas tree while adults can check out Vinopolis for an interactive wine and beer experience. (The outdoor skating path will be open until February).

Before leaving the area, be sure to check out Blink! at Faneuil Hall, a light and sound show that runs every half hour from 4:30 to 10 p.m. now through the end of the year. Here, you can check out the largest Christmas tree in the northeast (an 85-foot fir) set amidst all of Faneuil Hall, which is adorned in sparkling lights that are synchronized to music. Tomorrow, Boston Mobile Cuts Barbershop will host a hair cut benefit with 10 percent of all profits assisting with hurricane relief efforts.
