URBAN LEGENDS Exhibits Miami Art Week At Sagamore With A-List Lineup
Miami’s art hub, The Sagamore Hotel Miami Beach, is bringing forth a special art series as it presents URBAN LEGENDS during the upcoming Miami Art Week. The specially-curated exhibit is part of the hotel’s ongoing series, #SagamoreisArt, and will showcase the works of iconic and emerging urban artists including ABTRK, Jojo Anavim, Bambi, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Philippe Bonan, Cranio, MrD1987, D*Face, Demsky, Faile, Shepard Fairey, Romain Croquet, Inkie, Invader, Joe Iurato, Kaï, Kan, Keith Haring, L’Atlas, Logan Hicks, Jenny Perez, Pimax, M.Chat, Miss Tic, Zevs and many more.
The exhibit will remain on display from December 4th, 2017 through January 4th, 2018, inviting locals and visitors alike to come pay homage to the culture and history of urban street art. The entire exhibition has been methodically chosen by Sebastien Labourau, the Sagamore Hotel’s Art Advisor and urban art specialist.
“Urban artists are a testimony of our societies and are our contemporary poets. Through their works, they share stories and discuss the evolution of our world—they are telling our modern legends,” Labourau explains.
In addition, the hotel will exhibit an additional mural of exceptional stature attributed to Banksy, compliments of FAAM. The painted wall from Los Angeles is entitled “Cave Man,” presenting an iconic visual.
The exhibit will remain open to the public for the month and can be viewed 24/7 at leisure or with a hotel’s resident art advisor for a private tour, by appointment only. Most of the pieces exhibited are available for purchase.
To put a fitting end to the busy week of art-inspired events, the Sagamore Hotel Miami Beach will once again host its legendary Saturday Brunch on December 9th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., hosted by the hotel’s new ownership, along with Diamond Sponsors BNY Mellon Wealth Management and Chubb Insurance. The exclusive event is by invitation only, and will showcase a unique program of live music, art and culture. Guests can enjoy a special performance by Nu Deco Ensemble, as well as a joint dance interlude from Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and Grace Arts FL.
