How To Make This Year’s Emmys Cocktail: The Hilhaven Lodge Fireside

The Hilhaven Lodge Fireside is the official cocktail of The Emmys

LET’S FACE IT: AS MUCH AS YOU’D LIKE TO BE MINGLING WITH REESE WITHERSPOON, LAURA Dern and Nicole Kidman at The Governors Ball on September 17, the official Emmy Awards after-party, most of us will be sitting at home on the couch in pajamas. But there is a way to feel like you’re part of the action at the Los Angeles Convention Center anyway—at the very least, you can make this year’s official cocktail right at home. Award-winning bartender and Crafthouse founder Charles Jolly designed the signature drink with The Hilhaven Lodge Blended Straight American Whiskey, a collaboration brand between Diageo and movie mogul Brett Ratner, as well as absinthe, spiced pear liqueur and fresh lemon juice. The result, in our opinion, is about as award-worthy as they come.

– 1 ½ oz. The Hilhaven Lodge Blended Straight American Whiskey
– ½ oz. St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur
– 1 oz. absinthe
– ¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
– ½ oz. simple syrup
– Splash of ginger beer

Blend first five ingredients and shake, then pour into Collins glass over Kold-Draft style ice and top with ginger beer Garnish Fresh sage leaf and a lemon wheel

EMMY-WORTHY The Hilhaven Lodge Fireside is the cocktail that nominated actors such as Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Robert De Niro and Ellie Kemper will be drinking at the 2017 Emmys Governors Ball.
